Department of Human Resources and Safety
The Human Resources Department is responsible for all employee issues with regard to health insurance, retirement and other benefits. This department also manages the Town’s workers compensation claims and works to ensure the safety of all Town employees by providing routine safety inspections as well as training information.

Jim Hicks is a 1971 graduate of East Tennessee State University. He has been employed with the Town of Abingdon for 10 years. His background includes 28 years of industrial safety and personnel activities.
